CNC turned parts made of corrosion-resistant steel
More precisely, corrosion-resistant steel is steel which is resistant to acid and corrosion. It is also referred to as V2A stainless steel, corrosion-resistant steel, stainless steel, inox and Nirosta.
Characteristic of these materials is that they contain between 10 and 13 percent chromium, dissolved in a ferritic or austenitic solid solution mineral. The alloy components are the main difference to normal, black steel. These include nickel or niobium. There are clear specifications for the composition of corrosion-resistant steel. These are defined in the European standard DIN EN 100 88, parts 1 to 3.
CNC turned parts made of non-ferrous metal
Metals and alloys which do not contain iron are referred to as non-ferrous (NF) metals. These also include brass, which is one of our core areas of expertise at HKR. However, copper, zinc and bronze also belong to this category. These non-ferrous metals feature distinctive colouring.
CNC turned parts made of machining steel
Machining steel and equipment-based machining or turning are a perfect combination. The machining steel is alloyed with lead or sulphur. This makes higher cutting speeds possible. As a result, chips break at soft inclusions.
